Notes:

The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act applies to the handling, transporting and importing of dangerous goods. The Act and Regulations prescribe safety requirements for the handling and transportation of dangerous goods. Dangerous Goods are identified by classes in Schedule 1 to the Act and include Gases and flammable and combustible liquids. Dangerous goods confined only by the permanent structure of a ship are, however, excluded. Therefore, the Act does not apply to dangerous goods carried on board a ship within its holds. It would apply to cargo handling facilities.
